COPENHAGEN: FASHION WEEK & PASTRIES

Fashion. My favorite love language. I knew being in Europe I had to take advantage of being in such a fashion-forward city, and I knew I wanted to explore as much as possible. Copenhagen is a city full of fashion and fun, and it has a famous food scene. So, I knew I would enjoy it there, and as simple as that the trip was booked

A goal of mine in life is to attend/work a Fashion Week event, I love runway and think it would make a great story. Ironic enough, I was in Copenhagen during CPHFW (Copenhagen Fashion Week). It started when we got off the plane, and I noticed the airport was packed with groups of people. And yet, while being crowded everyone seems happy and in a great mood. No stressful stares or frustration shown, just smiling happy people ready to go to fashion week.

We checked into our hostel and were amazed. It was one of the first hostels we had stayed in, and it was so beautiful and spacious. This set us in a great mood, and we decided lets go out tonight. This was the beginning of the wildest night I had ever had in my life. We had just gotten to Copenhagen, so we didn't fully understand the transportation system, so we decided to walk. All the places we tried were 23 years and up, that was until we stumbled on an alley.

I kept seeing people with these amazing outfits walk into. The door had a camera and 5 different locks, so we were half terrified and half intrigued. We ring a doorbell, and a name named Pablo comes out. He asks how we know about this place, and I lie and say a friend told us to come here this weekend while we are in the city.

Clearly after a bit more talking, that was enough to convince Pablo to let us in. Soon enough we were in the coolest private club I had ever been in, with crazy unique drinks and furniture galore.

We spent almost 4 hours there, meeting the coolest people and I tried my best to make as many connections as possible! We head home feeling like we are on cloud 9.

The name of the bar was Banderdash and we went back for the rest of our trip!

We went to bed and the next day I really embraced my Scandinavian side! We headed downtown and decided to look for some food and architecture. First up was some breakfast and we found a pastry cafe around the train station, not realizing this is one of the most popular cafes in Copenhagen: Buka.

It was one of the best croissants we ever had we all had to go back in line to get ones of our own. We grabbed coffee to go and decided to explore the historical part of town. First stop by the Nyhavn early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Then we visited many castles and even got to Ariel. The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite princesses growing up so to see her statue in person felt so nostalgic.

Some backstory to the statue it is such an iconic symbol and tourist attraction. Based on the 1837 fairy tale, created in 1913 by Edvard Eriksen the Little Mermaid represents Copenhagen's history and story.

This is one of my favorite experiences in life.  Thank you for reading and I will see you in my next blog!
